You Tube Time

I've created my blog and am on my way :-) My next step is going to be utilizing you tube. My videos aren't horribly relevant to my site, but I figure it's another avenue to drive people to my site. Plus as everyone knows, Google loves You Tube...go figure.

We'll see when this gets done as the night is starting to go on, but I should have my You Tube account setup with a link back to my page as well as a couple videos in the next fews days.

You'll know when I know.

The Quest For Page Rank

Well, I've completed step one of the optimization and search engine indexing quest. I've created my Google XML Sitemap and have submitted it to Google. Google collected my information and has indexed four of my seven pages. Most of these pages don't have content on them yet, but I figured submit first and add content later. Only time will tell if this proves beneficial or completely useless. I suspect that it wont really matter in the long run.

My current page rank is a big wopping zero. Not much of a surprise. I have very little content and no external links to my website. I'm going to take a bit of a risk and set a goal for myself. By years end, my Google Rank will be a five. I know from my current job that people who well built sites often attain no higher than 3 or 4. So I think that 5 is a reasonable goal.

Something that sets me apart from current clientel at my job is that I have a virtually unlimited resource - my time. It costs me nothing and my knowledge and brain power can take me a long way. Many laymen are forced to pay $30-100 per hour for optimization purposes. For me, a case of Mountain Dew and a Friday night and I can accomplish a lot.

My next step is going to create my blog. I think I am going to start on blogger.com. I'm not sure if this is the best blogger site, but I am going to give it a shot. It's a free link back to my site, and who knows someone might just syndicate me!!
